Admission to The Banff School is based on results of entrance exams, and for students in grades K-12, previous school records and recommendations. No one factor is more important than another. We will carefully examine the complete file on each applicant and select students who will be able to succeed at Banff and contribute to the life of the school. No specific type of student is sought; each individual is considered for what he or she is and for what he or she might become. We seek diversity in the classroom and want students with different abilities and skills - academic, music, artistic, athletic. We have an open admission policy, which welcomes applicants of any race, color or creed.

While the school is prepared to help a student adjust, our school cannot handle a child with a serious problem effectively.

1. A completed and signed application form, a copy of the child's birth certificate, and a non-refundable fee ($200.00) must first be submitted.

2. First - Twelfth Grade: After your application has been received, a test date will be arranged. At time of testing, supply the following: transcript, report cards from previous 2 years, and results from standardized tests for past two years. We will also need 3 confidential recommendation forms: 2 from teachers and 1 from the school administrator. A copy of the student's Immunization Record is also due at this time.

3. A personal interview with the applicant and one or both parents/guardians may be requested following the completion of the application, testing and receipt of transcript.

4. Following a review of the above information by the Admissions committee, parents will be notified concerning acceptance.

5. Upon acceptance of the applicant, enrollment and technology fees will be due. This fees are not refunded. The Banff School reserves a space for accepted students upon receipt of the enrollment fees and accompanying documents.

Summer school classes are available for students Pre-K through 5th grade.
